Grew up a small town girl with big city dreams. Exploring movement and athletics as a young girl, I learned gymnastics, baton, track, and diving. I also enjoy being creative with my hands, whether it’s writing, cooking, or learning how to play an instrument. Being creative brings me much joy. My yoga journey started nine years ago. I had hit a crossroads, twenty years of age, living a lifestyle that wasn’t serving me for how I wanted to feel. Longing for motivation, I had heard about yoga, and it sparked my interest in wanting to know what it was about. Researching I discovered videos online and began to learn on my own and eventually began taking classes at a local gym.
Yoga found me when I needed it the most. Taking that step gave me an opportunity to start improving my health in a way I could really love. No doubt it was a yoga honeymoon as I noticed a sense of calm and ease shower over my mind and body. Naturally, I was feeling more positive and motivated about life again! I gravitated toward wanting to live a healthier lifestyle by including more whole foods into my diet, which was hardly existent before. The practice of yoga taught me I could trust and believe in my choices to better myself.
After a few years of dedicated practice and I desired to know more. I found out a fantastic friend and yoga studio owner was going to be holding a yoga teacher training. Being so close to home, this was a rare and perfect opportunity I couldn’t pass up! Teacher training’s, at the time, were not as common as they are today.
In 2016, I graciously received my 200hr RYT from the amazing teachers Para Yogini Katie Silcox and the owner of Opal Yoga Karen Thomas. My studies include an in-depth focus on Vinyasa Krama and Tantra Yoga.
Regularly I attend workshops and yoga immersions. Traveling full-time right now, I enjoy visiting Yoga shalas and meeting other teachers. I have had the honor to learn from Jennifer Elliot, Krista Shirley, Annie Pace, Tim Feldmann, Randy Aromando, Katie Silcox, Michelle Dorer, Megan Currie, Cuchira and soon with Tim Miller.
